Photography and Knits by Elise Sophie

norwegian flowers, books in a stack on the bedside table, cups of tea, films with lots of swearing, pincushions shaped as mushrooms, cats with big hearts, friends with many names and flavours, music with a lot of dimensions, knitting needles that mysteriously disappear, and yarn. lots of yarn.

herbs

yesterday my mum and i made some peppermint iced tea. it is always so nice to use ingredients straight from the garden when cooking, i think. i try to keep a few herbs on my windowsill at all times, since i don't have the luxury of having my own garden. yet.
if you want to make some, here's a very simple recipe:

10 leaves of peppermint, or regular mint if you prefer that
1 teabag of good ceylon tea (such as yorkshire or any breakfast tea) or if you'd rather use green tea that is good as well (there is always the option of using peppermint teabags if you cannot get your hands on fresh peppermint)
1 litre of boiled water
5-6 teaspoons of sweetener, such as honey, or plain sugar

boil water and pour over leaves and teabag in a teapot or jug, let teabag steep in water for about three minutes, remove and leave peppermint in for another five minutes. remove leaves, add sweetener and stir. leave to cool before refrigerating for a few hours. add ice cubes and enjoy.
