Photography and Knits by Elise Sophie

norwegian flowers, books in a stack on the bedside table, cups of tea, films with lots of swearing, pincushions shaped as mushrooms, cats with big hearts, friends with many names and flavours, music with a lot of dimensions, knitting needles that mysteriously disappear, and yarn. lots of yarn.

The Uncommon Reader

I've just read a book that's called "The Uncommon Reader", written by Alan Bennett. The story is about Queen Elizabeth II. and her meeting with the wonderous world of books. All of her life she's looked at books as something that one shouldn't waste time on. But one day she discovers the book-bus that visits the castle every Wednesday, and decides to borrow a book, and she is immediately hooked! The story ends very un-cliché, and this book was a lovely little treat. Everyone who loves to read should definitely read this book!
I highly recommend it.

Thoughts arrive like butterflies

I like those days when one can simply relax; have a cup of tea, listen to this song, or perhaps this, or this one? Do some knitting, watch a good movie with a sweet friend, eat tangerines and oranges and laugh of everything. Make waffles, play games, look forward to Christmas, look out of the window and wonder when the snow is going to fall, and just be happy!

By the way, one of my favourite artists is Vermeer. His paintings are so pretty, and full of things to look at. Have you seen the movie Girl with a pearl earring? It is about Vermeer and one of his paintings, and it absolutely worth a watch. Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth are the main characters, and the movie is beautiful.

All paintings are by Vermeer.

Big me

when I talk about it
it carries on
reasons only knew
when I talk about it
Aries or treasons
all renew

big me to talk about it
I could stand to prove
if we can get around it
I know that it's true

when I talked about it
carried on
reasons only knew

but it's you I fell into

well I talked about it
put it on
never was it true

Analog

I am taking pictures with my grandfathers old analog camera. I love waiting for the film to develop! Did the pictures turn out good, bad? Taking pictures has lost some of its charm after the digital cameras took over. We can look at the photo immediately after it was taken, and decide to delete it if it isn't perfect. With a film-roll we can't do that, and the not-so-perfect picture is stuck on paper, and we have to physically destroy the photo to get rid of it, and that's harder to do, right?
I've been looking for inspiration, and here's some of my favourite finds:

Library finds

I went to the library the other day and found a few treasures. Aren't they pretty?

Raindrops

I particularly like to walk in the rain when I get raindrops that look like diamonds on my eyelids.

Ringerike, himmelrike?

Ode to Eddie

You know the feeling when you remember something you've forgotten, something that perhaps happened years ago, something that made you smile, laugh, and feel so content and happy? The feeling you get when you meet someone that you haven't seen in several years. That is the feeling I got when I first listened to Eddie Vedder's music, and especially his songs and music from the movie Into the Wild.
And the best part is that I get that feeling everytime I listen to his music.

Sonnet

One of my favourite sonnets ever:

18

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more sweet and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometimes declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breath, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

By none other than Mr Shakespeare himself, of course. I've highlighted my favourite parts, what do you think of poetry?

Skuespillerinner

For eksempel Bridget Jones-filmene, come on - de er awesome!

Enig?)

I've recently managed to sum up the names of my favourite actresses! They are as follows, not ranked in any way: America Ferrera, Scarlett Johansson, Jemima Rooper, Renee Zellweger and Natalie Portman. I haven't quite figured out what qualities I prefer in an actor/actress when watching a movie. But all my favourite actresses are really amazing; they give all they have, they are totally in the moment in a scene, and they are really honest when they act. By the way, are you loving Scarlett Johansson's dress as much as I do?
